Funeral Services for John Henry Williams, Jr. will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2011 in New Dimensions Church, 5941 Two Notch Road.
John Henry Williams, Jr., well known as "Monk", was born November 13, 1951 to Emma Lee Williams. John departed this life on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the age 60 at Palmetto Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
John Henry Williams, Jr. had a long and active life. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. He worked at the State Hospital, for the City of Columbia, and for Shakespeare MONO. He also drove heavy equipment machinery for Mr. Brazell. Before his illness, he was a landscaper.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Ann Williams.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Margaret Ann Williams; sons, John Henry Williams, III, Ronald Williams, and Larry Awtran Harrison; daughters, Penny Williams and Lekeya Harrison; a companion, Demetrice Harrison; his mother, Emma Lee Williams; his grandmother, Eva Green Ross; brothers, Willie Lee Williams, Alphonso Williams, Leon (Sallie Ann) Williams, Anthony (Gloria) Williams, Alexander Williams and Antonio Williams; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline (John) Adams, Felicia D. Harrison, Sandra R. Harrison, and Jewel Harrison; brothers-in-law, Michael (Shirley) Harrison, Phillip A. Harrison, and Gregory (Rosemary) Harrison; grandchildren, Deshaun, Keira, Jayla, Jr., Alexis, Deshaun, and Latrivia.
We all had the opportunity to share in "Monk's" love and joy during his life here on earth. We will see him once again in the Promised Land. He will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. All the good memories shared with him will be cherished in the hearts of his many friends, family and extended family. We were truly blessed to have been graced with his warm, cheerful smile and gentle spirit.
