Larry Darnell Simmons was born on December 4th, 1958,in Columbia, SC. He was the son of theLate David and Charlotte Simmons. Hedeparted this earthly life on February 11th, 2012.
He was the twelfth child of fifteen siblings. He attended C.A. Johnson High School. He wasemployed at The SC Department of Mental Health.
Larry was a loving and caring brother, father, uncle andfriend. He touched the lives of manypeople. He had a giving heart. Larry fought a good fight with his long termillness and never gave up. We willalways cherish the memories we shared with him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother DavidSimmons Jr. and sister Brenda Green.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, LaKeta C. Tyler;a godson, Joshua Glover; and his siblings, Bertie M. Simmons of Columbia, SC,Mary (Bishop Joseph) Rosier of Greenville, SC, Pastor Robert (Shirley) Simmonsof Sumter, SC, Elwillie Simmons of Columbia, SC, Nathaniel (O’Cynthia) Simmonsof Latta, SC, Pastor Henry (Renee) Simmons, Melvin (Winifred) Simmons, Bernard(Jacqueline) Simmons, Betty (Frank) Asmond, Charlene Simmons, Lois (Peter)Asmond, and John Simmons, all of Columbia, SC.
