(February 20,1938 - December 26, 2011)

Funeral Arrangements for Ms. Lacey Murphy were held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Refuge Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (4450 Argent Court, Columbia, SC), Bishop Stephen Hendrick officiating.

Lacey Mae Murphy was born February 20, 1938 in Pontiac, South Carolina. She was the beloved daughter of the late Alexander and Annie Boyd. She departed this earthly life on Monday, December 26, 2011.

She attended the public schools of Richland County. After completing high school, she earned a certificate as a Nursing Assistant, working at Crafts-Farrow State Hospital until she was deemed disabled.

Lacey accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized in Jesus' name, receiving the precious gift of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38 at Progressive Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc. in Killian, SC. She later moved her membership to Refuge Temple Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Henry; and her sister, Lilly.

Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memories are her three brothers, Raymond (Dee) Boyd, David (Katherine) Boyd, and Alexander (Shavon) Boyd, all of Columbia, SC; five sisters, Nonnie Mitchell, Lila Turner, and Shirley (Larry) Hudson, all of Columbia, SC and Lena Colvin and Josephine (Joseph) Smith, both of Blythewood, SC; nephews, nieces, and a host of other loving relatives.

A special thank you is extended to Leola C. Bailey of Palmetto Senior Care for assisting with Lacey's care in her final days. Lacey will be missed dearly, and her family and friends will cherish her memories.
