Alice K. Moore(July 4, 1923 - February 8, 2012)
Funeral Services for Ms. Alice K. Moore will be held Monday, February
13, 2012 at 1:00PM in the New Light Beulah Bapstist Church, 1330
Congaree Road, Hopkins, SC with burial in the New Light Beulah Baptist
Church Cemetery.
“Nana” as she was affectionately called by her family andfriends was educated in the public school system of Richland County.
Mrs. Moore accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a very early age. She was a member of New Light Beulah Baptist Church whereshe served faithfully until her death. She attended Tuesday Bible Study at Good Shepherd Holiness Church which she looked forward to each week.
She was a loving, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,sister, aunt, care giver, and friend. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, singing, caring for children, reading her bible, and eating mint candy. Though she is nolonger physically with us, her memory will forever be cherished by all who knewand loved her.
Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by three sisters, six brothers, and one grandson.
Those left to cherish fond and precious memories of Alice are her loving daughters, Catherine Gross of Bradenton, FL and Bernadette (Thomas) Sumter of Hopkins, SC; five grandchildren, Christopher Gross of Bradenton, FL, Stacey (Demetrius) Hogans, of Irmo, SC, Thomas W. Sumter III, of West Columbia, SC, Catherine D. Sumter, of Hopkins, SC and Solomon Sumter, of Hopkins, SC; two great-grandchildren, Talia Hogans and Madyson Sumter; onesister Janie Collins, of Waterbury, CT; and a host of nephews, nieces and other loving relative and dear friends all of whom join the family in sharing thegrief caused by her sudden departure, but rejoice in knowing that she is with the Lord.
