Funeral Arrangements for Mrs. Brenda Green have been held Monday, January 2, 2012 - 2pm at the Bride Tabernacle of Jesus Christ (3731 Martin Street, Columbia, SC), Pastor Henry Simmons officiating.
Brenda Ann Simmons Burns Green was born March 22, 1951, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of David and Charlotte Simmons. She departed the earthly life on December 30, 2011.
Brenda was the seventh child of the fifteen siblings. She was educated in the public schools of Richland County and she was a high school graduate.
Throughout her adult life, Brenda worked as a Nurse at Richland Memorial Hospital and at the South Carolina State Hospital. For 13 years, she was an Assistant Manager at Catherine's clothing store.
She was a very loving and caring person and touched the lives of many. Brenda was there for every special occasion for her family and friends, whether it was far or near. Brenda was also known for her bright smile and her many words rather it was for correction or for encouragement. We will always remember and cherish the times we shared with her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Glenda (Jay) Burns Miller; a grandson, Jay Anthony Miller, Jr.; and her siblings, Bertie M. Simmons of Columbia, SC, Mary (Bishop Joseph) Rosier of Greenville, SC, Robert (Shirley) Simmons of Sumter, SC, Elwillie Simmons of Columbia, SC, Nathaniel (O'Cynthia) Simmons of Latta, SC, Pastor Henry (Renee) Simmons of Columbia, SC, Melvin (Winifred) Simmons of Columbia, SC, Bernard (Jackelyn) Simmons of Columbia, SC, Betty (Frank) Asmond of Columbia, SC, Larry Simmons of Columbia, SC, Charlene Simmons of Columbia, SC, Lois (Peter) Asmond of Columbia, SC, and John Simmons of Columbia, SC.
Also left to cherish her memory are special friends, ThelmaWard, Clara Harrison, Barbara Cooper, Gertude Crum, Annie McCreary, Gracie Priester; and her cousins, Ann Jackson and Kitty Ann Neal.
