McCollom-Myers Mortuary, A Place Where our Families are First”, formally opened it doors on June 22, 2009. Mr. Claude McCollom founder and then owner of McCollom Funeral Home began this business with the community in mind. With a vision and a dream, he courageously opened and built McCollom Funeral Home on a foundation of honesty and service. He was known as a man of his word that cared for everyone that he served.

McCollom-Myers Mortuary is founded on the legacy of Mr. Claude McCollom, a man who left an indelible mark in the community. Mr. Myers intends to continue the legacy by providing Columbia and the surrounding area with a way for our families to celebrate the life of their loved ones when it ends and for the living to gather social support to bring closure and move ahead with their lives. With over 15 years of service to the Columbia Metropolitan community, McCollom-Myers’ cornerstone and mission is based on its dedication to meeting the needs of families first; and to accommodate them in a funeral service that is uniquely designed for their loved one.

Brian W. Myers
Brian Walter Myers, owner, proprietor and managing director, born and raised in the Eau Claire Community, is not a stranger to the pulse of this community and the needs of its citizens. He is a 1994 graduate of Keenan High School. He received his Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Services, Atlanta, Georgia in August of 1996. After graduating from Gupton-Jones College, he worked as an Apprentice Funeral Director and Embalmer at the Palmer Memorial Chapel. Upon successful completion of his apprenticeship, Brian received his Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s License in 1999. In January 2000, he began employment with Leevy's Funeral Home and has served there for 9 years. He served as Assistant Managing Director from 2006 to 2009, where he has been fortunate to serve families by providing trust and compassion while simultaneously providing homegoing services that express dignity and excellence. He is member of the Zeta Zeta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America. Mr. Myers is a compassionate, family-oriented man who values most his relationship with God.
